Howdy, Larry.
Welcome back to planDisney! Oh boy, your vacation to The Most Magical Place on Earth is just around the riverbend. Pretty soon you'll be standing right in the middle of Main Street, U.S.A. with a churro in hand, The Dapper Dans singing in the background, and a pristine view of Cinderella Castle dressed in her
50th Anniversary Celebration finest. I bet you can't wait!
I'm always happy to help a fellow Texan, so thanks for boot-scooting on by with this excellent question. Taking
Disney PhotoPass photos with my family is one of my favorite things to do on my trips back "home." In fact, the walls of my home and the camera roll on my phone are overflowing with memorable snapshots taken on our magical adventures together thanks to Disney PhotoPass photographers and the unlimited downloads that come with
Memory Maker. I think you will be pleased with your purchase of Memory Maker for your upcoming trip and am excited for you to use it.
Based on my experiences in January and December, I think Disney PhotoPass photographers are abundantly available throughout Walt Disney World Resort. I did not notice a big difference between how many there are now versus how many there were before COVID-19. With that being said, some of the
Character Experience locations that consistently had Disney PhotoPass photographers on site, such as
meeting Mickey at Town Square Theater, may not have them on site anymore. Of course, availability of Disney PhotoPass photographers is subject to change at any time, but that's what I noticed on my last two trips. In locations that don't have a photographer on hand, having your own camera may come in handy. I typically tend to take as many pictures with the camera on my phone as I do with Disney PhotoPass photographers, so I would likely bring my camera if I were in your shoes.
Larry, I want to offer a few tips on how to get the most use out of your Memory Maker purchase during your trip.
- Use the interactive map feature on your My Disney Experience App to easily locate Disney PhotoPass spots near you. Select "PhotoPass" from the drop-down menu at the top-middle of the map to view a list of available Disney PhotoPass locations nearby.
- Since attraction photos are included in your Memory Maker purchase, you might want to make note of the time you experience the attractions that have accompanying photos. Sometimes they won't link to your MagicBand automatically the way they should. If this happens to you too, just call the wonderful Disney PhotoPass Guest Support Team at 407-560-4300 and give them your timestamp information for assistance locating your missing pictures.
- When you return home from your magical adventure, be sure to order a Disney PhotoPass Archive USB flash drive that will have all the photos from your trip loaded onto it. It serves as a great backup system for your magical memories.
Larry, don't forget Disney PhotoPass photos expire 45 days from the date they were taken, so be sure to download them all before that happens. If you have further questions before you set off on your magical adventure, please stop back by planDisney. We are always happy to help!
See ya real soon,
Alyssa
