1st family vacation @ WDW (DH, DS9, DD5) for 11/1 to 11/10. trying to do ADR. can you tell me difference between Boma & Tusker House for dinner? Planning meal after day at AK. Thanks!

    Terese,

The Tusker House menu was inspired by the great success at Boma. As such you will find some similarity in the two menus, though in both cases the items available in both restaurants change regularly. If you are interested in seeing some of the typical fare, you can see menus for both at AllEars.net.

I find that the deciding factor between the two is the setting, and location. If we have spend a day in the Animal Kingdom park, and are going to be there until an early dinner time, we go to Tusker House. There is a convenience there, and of late I have felt like their food is really getting better. And I never thought that it wasn't good, so that is saying a lot.

If, however, I have been elsewhere, but feel like one of these meals, then I go to Boma. I love to experience that resort, and especially for dining times that are later in the evening I like the animal viewing and taking in the warm and inviting lobby area.

Another factor is cost. Boma is typically about $5 more per adult. That is pre-tip. I think that the price reflects a slightly higher breadth of offering in food choices. But I also think it pairs with a slightly more upscale dining experience. I just think that dining in that resort seems a bit more 'upscale', if you could compare the two on that facet.

BOTTOM LINE: I rate these both as 4 out of 5 star restaurants. But I choose as follows: If I am in the Animal Kingdom park, I go to Tusker House. If I am not, I go to Boma. I think I still prefer Boma, but don't think it is a hugely better restaurant, just a more convenient one.

Have a magical (and delicious) vacation!
