We are a family of 4. If using rider switch on Tron for my son who is not tall enough, how many individual lightning passes do I need to purchase? He will be entering the line with us but not riding. Does my son who is not riding, need a lightning pass?

    Hi there, Joe!

Welcome to planDisney, and thank you for your question! Rider Switch is a wonderful feature for those of us who have Mouseketeers who can't ride certain attractions because of age, or if they simply don't want to! For attractions like TRON Lightcycle/Run, he won't need a Lightning Lane Single Pass. When you arrive at the attractions and cannot ride, mention to the Cast Members at the attraction entrance you want to use Rider Switch, and they will escort one of you and your son to the designated waiting area. Once you are finished riding the attraction, you can head back to that area after exiting. Check out this list of attractions that have Rider Switch.

As a mom of a toddler, taking time to enjoy attractions and entertainment she can participate in is important! I visited Walt Disney World Resort earlier this month, and I want to share my top things to do with little ones:

    • Casey Jr. Splash 'N' Soak Station: this water play area at Disney's Magic Kingdom Park is the perfect stop to cool off in the middle of the day! While you are in Storybook Circus, pick up a map near Big Top Souvenirs and participate in the Smellephants on Parade, which is a fun scavenger hunt! Finally, Dumbo the Flying Elephant has an indoor play area in the line, which is also perfect for Mouseketeers (and parents!) to stay cool!
    • ¡Celebración Encanto!: Enjoy dancing and singing along to the music of the amazing Madrigals in this fun show at CommuniCore Hall & Plaza at EPCOT!
    • Liquid Layer Splash Pad: There is another water play area right outside Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT! This is where I hung out with my toddler while my husband rode the attraction.

Joe, I hope all of this information was helpful! Thank you again for stopping by planDisney, and have a wonderful visit to Walt Disney World!
