Hello there, Jennifer!
It’s so nice to meet you and welcome to planDisney! I’ll be more than happy to help provide some tips and tricks so that you can make the most of your Magic Kingdom Day.
I want to first touch on the
Fishing Excursion. I hope that those lucky few who will be fishing can make a few good catches. The men in my family, my husband and son, are huge fishermen. While we girls rather hang in the theme parks, over the summer my husband insisted we join them on the Fishing Excursion, and let me tell you, it was so much fun. Our guide was fantastic and all of us were able to catch a handful of fish. My only recommendation is, don’t wear your MagicBand while fishing, we lost two during the excursion.
Now when it comes to your existing
Lightning Lane reservations, I recommend making sure that those already booked are booked for later in the day. Probably around the time the rest of your party is finished fishing. That way you all can enjoy those attractions together. For those who will not be fishing and heading straight to the theme park, I recommend that you all rope drop. Rope Drop means arriving at the park before the opening time that way you are already inside the park ready to head to your first attraction the minute
Magic Kingdom opens.
I’ve found that the attraction wait times are much less during those early hours shortly after the theme park is open. This will allow your group to enjoy the standby queue for a much shorter wait and maybe even be able to experience some of the same attractions you have Lightning Lanes already booked for. So, the theme park group will essentially be able to experience those high-demand attractions twice.
Once the rest of your party joins you, head on over to use your first Lightning Lane pass together. After the use of the first one, you will be able to book another. I recommend taking a look at your existing reservations and making sure that they are your must-do selections. If I were you I’d probably have
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure scheduled as my must-do sometime after the party will be back together. That attraction seems to remain busy since it is the newest experience. And it will be easier to keep that selection booked for a time your whole party will be together.
If your plans have the flexibility to be modified, I would try and schedule your fishing excursion on a non-theme park day. This is usually what we do so that we can truly enjoy the excursion without feeling the need to rush back into the parks. This option will truly allow you to maximize your Lightning Lane purchase since the party will be together from start to finish. If not, then I recommend sticking to my first plan. Half fish, half rope drop, it's truly the best way to maximize your time with or without Lightning Lane passes.
Jennifer, I hope this helps guide your planning a little bit more. Overall, you’ll want to try and keep your Lightning Lane times booked together so that everyone qualifies for a new attraction at the same time. It will make planning for the remainder of the day run smoothly. Trust me.
Have a great visit and if there's anything else we can help with, don't hesitate to
ask!
See ya real soon,
Shantel
