Hi, Nora! The first time we stayed at
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, my oldest said we were "too Jersey" for such a nice place. Nonsense. Fuggedaboudit!
It may seem fancy, but I love this resort for the tranquil elegance, and because it has some of the most fun things to do. The
Beach Pool has a zero-depth entry, just like walking into the ocean, and a 181-foot water slide This pool overlooks the Seven Seas Lagoon, and from the beach, you can watch the fireworks from the
Magic Kingdom theme park and catch the nightly
Electrical Water Pageant.
You'll find a game arcade, fishing, and basketball at the resort, and honestly, once you get past the gorgeous marble lobby, you'll find the rooms to be comfortable and relaxing. Think of it more as Victorian instead of fancy, and it'll be like visiting Cape May - still the Jersey Shore, but with polish.
Everyone there is going into the theme parks, the same as you guys, in shorts and t-shirts. You won't see people dressed overly fancy - and if you do, they're going to
Victoria & Albert's, which is one of the great restaurants there (try
1900 Park Fare - great character dinner).
This resort is convenient, beautiful, and fun for ANYONE! Enjoy it!
Anna
