Hi there! My family and I have an upcoming trip. We have a reservation for breakfast at Ohana, and I’m wondering whats the best (most fun) way to get there from Fort Wilderness Campgrounds?! Thank you!!

    Howdy, Montana! Welcome to planDisney!

Thanks for bringing us the rootin’, tootin’ question about the Campsites at Fort Wilderness and navigating the Magic Kingdom resort area. I’m happy to say that I’m an experienced guide and I can help you chart a course over land, sea, and air to to get you to your reward: breakfast!

I always like to take to the waves, and there are a few different options to get to ‘Ohana from Fort Wilderness that involve boats. One way is to take a complimentary bus from Fort Wilderness to the Magic Kingdom and then take either the water taxi (look for the ones with gold flags) or the resort monorail to the Polynesian Village Resort. Another possibility is to take the water taxi directly from Fort Wilderness to the Magic Kingdom (look for the green flags) and then jump on another water taxi or the monorail to get to the Polynesian.

It’s also worth noting that later in the day (after 3 PM) you could take the blue flag water taxis between Fort Wilderness, Wilderness Lodge, and the Contemporary Resort, and board the monorail at the Contemporary. While this doesn’t help you get to breakfast, it’s a fun option for exploring the other resorts.

Whichever way you choose, be sure to download the My Disney Experience app. You can use the app to get directions to almost anywhere at Walt Disney World. Choose your destination (like ‘Ohana), select directions, enter your starting point, and the app will show your transportation options. Since water taxi, bus, and monorail operation times are all subject to change, it's always good to have a backup route at the ready.

Montana, best of luck in your dining adventure. I’m sure you have what you need to traverse the wilds of Bay Lake and the Seven Seas Lagoon, but if you have any other questions as you prepare for your journey, the trail guides at planDisney are ready to help!

    Magical travels, partner!
