We have a family trip planned 8-9 to 8-16 for my son's 3rd bday! We have lunch reservations @ TRex Cafe on the day we plan to visit Hollywood Studios.. Should we go early to HS, exit for lunch & come back? Or just have lunch 1st then enter park afterwa

Hi, Stephanie!  Personally, I like to hit the theme parks early in the morning, right as they open, so I can get some things done before midday crowds hit their peak.  I always feel like I've accomplished something if I can knock out two rides or attractions before 10 AM.

If your lunch reservation is very early - say 11 - and you are not typically early risers, you might want to just head over to Downtown Disney for your lunch reservation, then go into the park.  I'd probably hit the park first, though, and get at least one ride done before going over to the restaurant.

Have a great trip, and a very happy, pixie dust sprinkled third birthday to your little guy!
