Welcome to planDisney, Brittany!
It’s so exciting that you’ll be visiting the
Disneyland Resort with your family! With a group that size, a little extra planning goes a long way in keeping everything smooth, seamless, and, most importantly, magical.
When purchasing your theme park tickets, there are a couple of ways to ensure that your family’s tickets are linked together, making it easy to plan Lightning Lane return times. If you purchased your tickets directly from Disney while logged into your
MyDisney account, they should already be linked. To check, visit the Disneyland website, log into your MyDisney account, and select the “My Disneyland” link. If you purchased your tickets from an authorized third party, you’ll need to manually link them by entering each ticket’s barcode number into your account.
Another convenient option is the
Disneyland app! After opening the app, tap the hamburger icon in the bottom right corner and select “My Tickets and Passes.” From there, use the plus icon in the upper right corner to open the “Link Tickets and Passes” option. You can either enter the barcode numbers manually or use your phone’s camera to scan each barcode. Either method will ensure that your tickets are linked and ready for all the fun that awaits!
With a group that size, I have a few Q-Tips for attractions that are extra fun to experience together. First, nothing beats filling an entire boat on
Pirates of the Caribbean. Your swashbuckling crew will give Captain Jack Sparrow a run for his doubloons!
Star Tours is another fantastic choice, especially if one of your family members gets chosen as the Rebel Spy. And for a more relaxed way to take in the sights, hop aboard the
Disneyland Railroad and enjoy a scenic ride together on an authentic steam-powered train.
Here’s one more Q-Tip, Brittany, to help maximize your
Lightning Lane reservations! You can potentially hold more than one reservation at a time. Once you book a Lightning Lane, you won’t be able to book another until either your current reservation is used or two hours have passed. For example, if you book a return time for Matterhorn Bobsleds at 9:00 a.m. for 4:00 p.m., you can still grab another reservation, say, for Haunted Mansion, at 11:00 a.m. without losing your Matterhorn slot. A handy trick I use is setting alarms on my phone or watch to remind me when it’s time to book another reservation. That way, I never miss a chance to experience my favorite attractions!
Brittany, I hope you have an absolutely magical visit! If you have any more questions or need more tips for making your Disneyland adventure extra special, please don’t hesitate to visit us again at planDisney.
Wishing you a pixie-dusted trip!
