My family will be traveling to WDW in October, and I was just wondering if the deluxe resorts are worth springing for. Thanks!

That depends on what "worth it" means to you. Disney's value resorts are a clean, fun place to sleep if you're on a budget. I would never encourage anyone to incur unnecessary debt for a hotel room. But if you have the means to splurge, the deluxe resorts can help you have a, well, deluxe vacation. The deluxe resorts help me feeling like I've gotten away from my regular humdrum life of car pools and laundry and that someone else is taking care of me for a change. To me, that's what a vacation is all about.

Here are some of the fabulous things you can experience at a deluxe resort that you won't find elsewhere:

    - Unique and inspiring views. Only from the deluxe hotels can you see Cinderella's Castle or real African Animals.
    - Room service. At the values you can just get pizza; at the deluxes there's gourmet in-room dining.
    - Superior recreation. The deluxe pools are larger, have bigger slides and more "wow" features. Easy access to golf or tennis. Fitness centers.
    - On-site spas.
    - Larger rooms and larger bathrooms.
    - Mini-bars and plush robes.
    - Table service dining on-site. Many of the gourmet signature restaurants are at the deluxe hotels.
    - Access to suites and concierge-level service.
    - Incredible lobby themeing.
    - More transportation. At some you can travel by monorail and boat as well as by bus.Others are within quick walking distance to a theme park.
    - Easier access to child care. The evening child care centers are all in the deluxe hotels.
    - Shopping. Some deluxe resorts have elegant and unique boutiques on-site.
    - Valet parking.

The list goes on and on about all the tremendous benefits you'll find in the deluxe resorts. These amenities go a long way to making my vacations truly special. But, as I said, all those perks do come with a substantial price tag.

There are many ways to have a nice WDW vacation at any price point. But yes, some of those price points are a lot nicer than others ;-)
