Hey howdy, hey Rebecca, and welcome back to planDisney. I love traveling with my extended family. Every time we go with my parents or my in-laws they seem to have a better time than we do. Maybe it’s because I’m treating. Who knows but I love having them there.
Because your parents are traveling first they have early access to make
advance dining reservations as long as they are staying on property at a
Disney Resort Hotel. When Guests stay on-property, they are able to
book dining reservations 60 days in advance of their check-in date(up to 10 days of their vacation). So if they are arriving three days before you and you guys are going to overlap any amount of time, then they should be able to create advance dining reservations for all six of you. Now, if you want to make dining reservations for the six of you, you will have to wait until your advance dining reservation window opens 60 days before your arrival.
planDisney Pro Tip: For difficult dining reservations, we typically work in reverse. We start with the most difficult reservations and make them for the end of our trip because the fewest number of people will have access to those dates. Also, if you have trouble getting a dining reservation, know that there are walk-up lists and people have the ability to cancel no less than two hours before their check-in time with the restaurant host. That means people can be very fluid whether they decide they are actually going to eat at that restaurant.
Rebecca, I hope this information is helpful for you and your family and that your party of six enjoys hanging out with Mickey and the rest of the Fab Five. Please feel free to stop back by planDisney for more tips and know that you can
write me back directly if you have any follow-up questions.
Enjoy making many Magical Memories.
