Hi there, our family is traveling to Disney World for the first time and two of my family members are gluten free. I'm wondering if you can recommend some good restaurants that cater to gluten free in each of the parks as well as near Disney Springs?

    Hi there, Aimee!

Planning a Walt Disney World vacation is as much about the food as about all the other components, especially when you have to factor in food allergies. Walt Disney World takes this kind of stuff seriously.

There was a launch a few years back of allergy friendly menus designed with allergies in mind. The menus list options for guests with a variety of allergy issues, including gluten.

Also, many items on the regular menus are offered gluten free - just ask! Some of our favorite locations include Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen at the Magic Kingdom; Tiffin's Restaurant at Disney's Animal Kingdom; and for a great character dining experience, The Garden Grill at Epcot. Don't forget - the famous Dole Whip is also gluten free.

At Disney Springs, The BOATHOUSE has some really amazing options. We had a friend with allergy issues with us on a recent visit, and a chef came table side to talk about adapting everything she wanted to accommodate her gluten concerns.

You can also contact Special Dietary Requests if you feel there will be other concerns.

    Have a wonderfully delicious time!
