My family and I will be traveling on the Disney Wonder January 4th-10th with it only going one way and leaving us in Puerto Rico. I was wondering if this is something they do every year when they are done with the Port (Galveston) that its leaving from??

    Ahoy, Julia!

The cruise that you are sailing on is also considered a "repositioning cruise". The Disney Wonder has plans to sail the Southern Caribbean Itineraries for a month out of San Juan, Puerto Rico beginning on January 10. Then, on February 4, the ship will sail from San Juan to Miami, Florida. These cruises happen a few times a year on the Disney Magic or Disney Wonder when they need to head to a new port. The Dream and Fantasy currently do not have plans to leave Port Canaveral, FL.

I actually sailed on the Disney Magic last October from San Juan, PR to Port Canaveral, FL, after the Magic had been sailing the Southern Caribbean for a month. We did back-to-back cruises, the first being the Southern itinerary and then the second sailing to Port Canaveral with just a stop at Disney's Private Island, Castaway Cay. It was such a wonderful trip...ten nights onboard, we didn't have to change rooms, and kept the same servers, too!

You will get to enjoy three amazing days at sea at the beginning of your cruise! Be sure to check the Daily Navigator for all of the fun activities onboard, including fun Disney trivia and the "Mickey 200", to name a couple.

I hope you have a WONDERful cruise! Please visit us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with more questions before your family sets sail to Puerto Rico!

    Happy Cruising, Tracy V.
