My family of 7 is traveling to Disney this month for the first time and are staying at the Wilderness Lodge. Any advice or recommendations for larger families? (age span is 2-13) Also, can I add another park day while on vacation and if so, how?

    Dear Kari,

Thanks for reaching out to us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your terrific question about your family vacation coming up!

Traveling with a large group is so much fun but can present its own challenges also! It's great that you're trying to prepare for some of that ahead of time.

Some of my large group recommendations include not being afraid to split up your group at times to have different experiences. You may find that a couple of adults might want to take some of the older children to thrill rides while others prefer to stay with younger children. Then you might want to make plans to meet up for an Advanced Dining Reservation as a group at a certain time, for example at the rip-roaring buffet at the Whispering Canyon Cafe. Also, at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, there are a ton of great activities that will interest the whole group. Have you considered having some fun around the campfire right there near your resort hotel? Don't forget your marshmallows!

Another tip for your large group - by linking each other together on Memory Maker, you can share all of your photos and also share the cost!

To answer your second question, yes, you can add a day of park time at anytime during your visit by visiting Guest Services or your Wilderness Lodge Concierge desk, no problem!

Hope that helps you to start planning your magical vacation!
