Welcome aboard, Tami! Your first cruise with Disney Cruise Line is going to be such a magical and memorable one! I'm really excited for your family to experience a vacation at sea with Captain Mickey!
You'll be happy to know that
Disney Cruise Line's staterooms are very spacious compared to typical staterooms on other cruise ships. We love that most of the staterooms also include split bathrooms so we can more easily all be getting ready at the same time! You'll really enjoy this feature too!
While
over-the-door hangers are not allowed, as they can scratch the paint and damage the doors, there are some other space savers you may consider bringing. We always pack a collapsible laundry hamper. You know, those pop up ones? They take up virtually no space in the luggage but pop up to store all of our dirty laundry in the closet of the stateroom. That saves a lot of space and keeps us organized. You may also consider bringing a few hanging dop kits to hang on the towel bars in the bathrooms. Or hanging organizers that have a regular hanger, not an over-the-door hanger, at the top. You can then hang this up right in the closet like the other hangers. There is also a hook on the wall outside the bathroom where you can hang a hanger type organizer.
Plus, I think you'll be surprised at all of the built-in storage in the stateroom. There are lots of drawers, cabinets, shelves, and other nooks and crannies to store your personal items. Plus, the beds are high enough that you can keep your luggage underneath, which saves even more space.
I hope those ideas help as you continue preparing for your exciting cruise on the
Disney Fantasy, Tami!
