Hello! How r u? Me and my family are thinking about going on an alaskan disney cruise next year. Do you think september is a good month? What month would you recommend? Is the senses spa open during these cruises? Thank you!!!

Ahoy, Fernanda! Welcome back to planDisney! I am happy to help you chart a course toward the magic that awaits you in Alaska!  We love when Guests sail back in to ask us questions!

For a September 2027 Disney Cruise Line sailing to Alaska, both the Disney Wonder and the Disney Magic head north to sail past towering glaciers and through some breathtakingly icy seas. It is one of those destinations that makes you stop mid-sentence to say wow!

I checked the Disney Cruise Line search tool, and there are a few September dates available across two different Alaska itineraries with slightly different destinations. September is considered late in the season, and it is the final month that Disney sails to Alaska each year. One of the biggest advantages of the time of year is fewer crowds. The tradeoff is that the weather can be colder and wetter, and the days start getting shorter as Alaska prepares for winter. I did a land tour in early October a few years back and we definitely had snow and cold, but there was a huge bonus to traveling later in the season. In September, you have a better chance of spotting the Northern Lights, something you typically will not see during the brighter summer months. Seeing them was high on my Alaska wish list, and Alaska absolutely delivered!

Onboard both the Disney Wonder and Disney Magic, Senses Spa & Salon is the perfect place to warm up, relax, and let all your worries drift away like an iceberg in the distance. We visited Senses on both ships and I cannot recommend the Rainforest Room enough. It is the ultimate way to unwind while watching the scenery glide by outside the windows. Senses Spa is reserved for Guests 18 and over. Guests ages 13 to 17 may enjoy services under two conditions: a parent or guardian must book the treatment, and they must accompany them for the duration of the treatment. My husband and I spent plenty of time in the Rainforest Room reading, relaxing, and gently rocking along with the ship. It was glacier slow relaxation in the best way possible! Fun fact: on one of our sailings, it happened to be a Halloween on The High Seas sailing and we won a costume contest, and the prize on that sailing was a pass to the Rainforest Room!

The Rainforest Room features two aromatherapy steam rooms, a sauna, and refreshing showers with different water settings that feel amazing after a day of exploring ports or standing out on deck spotting whales. With a pass, you will also have access to the locker room, towels, flip flops, and those plush Disney Cruise Line robes that you will never want to take off. Once settled in, you can sip on fruit infused water and stay nice and hydrated. You can come and go all day long, so we like to start our mornings there and sail back in whenever we need a little extra relaxation.

Fernanda, I hope this helps you navigate toward the perfect Alaska adventure! Pack layers, embrace the chill, enjoy every snowy peak and glacier view, and come back anytime if we can help with more questions. I am always happy to help you stay on course! I Wonder what Magic is in store for you!

    Bon Voyage!
