Hey there, Jenny! Thanks so much for cruising by planDisney with your great question. I’m so excited for your family’s first Disney Cruise Line adventure!
You’re a girl after my own heart. My husband always jokes that my toiletry bag is big enough to need its own suitcase! I love that you’re making a custom hanging version...how fun! I’m sure it’s going to be amazing.
You’re so smart to check the
prohibited items list ahead of time. Disney Cruise Line does not allow
over-the-door organizers or hooks because they can scratch or damage the doors. But if your toiletry bag is designed to hang from the built-in hook on the back of the bathroom door (and doesn’t go over the door itself), you’re in the clear!
Since this is your first cruise, here’s a little bonus tip I think you’ll appreciate: most Disney Cruise Line staterooms (except for the smaller inside rooms in Category 11) feature a “split bathroom” design. That means you’ll have two separate areas; one with a toilet and sink, and another with a shower/tub combo and a second sink. It’s a game changer for families, especially when everyone’s trying to get ready at the same time!
You’ll also find a good amount of storage in the bathrooms: shelves, hooks, and space under the sink. But if you’re like me (the only girl in a house full of boys!), I sometimes sneak away to the
Senses Spa to get ready. I love purchasing a Rainforest Room pass so I can shower and unwind there...it’s the perfect little escape.
I hope this helps you feel even more prepared, Jenny! If you have any other questions as your cruise gets closer, I’m always happy to help.
Happy sailing,
Eean
