Our family will be taking a cruise next year. We are very interested in doing the Castaway Cay 5K, but do not want to do it with our girls who will be 3 and 5. What are the hours for the Oceaneer Club? And, can we leave them on the ship while we run?

    Ahoy, Casey!

I love kicking off my day in Disney's paradise by running the Castaway Cay 5K! It's a great way to burn off some of those cruise calories and take in some picturesque views of the island.

Directions for race registration will be in your cruise newsletter, the Personal Navigator, but you can plan on stopping by either the Port Adventures Desk or Guest Services any time before arriving at Disney Castaway Cay to sign up. Scuttle's Cove, the youth club on the island, will open early for the children of the parents who plan to run so you'll be able to drop them by before you head to the starting line near the bike rental location. Just ask one of the youth counselors at the Oceaneer Club or Lab about specific opening times on your particular sailing once you are aboard. Runners meet on the ship to pick up runDisney bibs in one of the lounges and disembark together so you'll want to stop by the meeting spot before you leave to take your girls to Scuttle's Cove. After you finish running, you can leave the girls at Scuttle's Cove to go back to the ship to shower and change or stop by and get them. Youth activities on the island include water games, whale digs, beach parties and more!

Casey, thank you for sending in your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. If we can assist you further, please let us know!
