Hello, My family is taking our 1st cruise in January aboard the Disney Dream. We are visiting Castaway Cay and Nassau. Is there a public beach we can enjoy at each port? If so is there a fee? Do we have to book an excursion for the beaches?

    Welcome aboard, Anthony!

When you arrive at Castaway Cay, Disney's beautiful private island, so much is included for the day! As you disembark, you'll be handed beach towels, and you can make your way to the tram right down from the ship. Take the tram to one of two Family Beach stops where your whole family can enjoy the beach and all of the fun activities that Disney has to offer that day! There are plenty of beach chairs and loungers, hammocks, shady spots, and sunny spots. You'll easily find a place to set up camp for the day and use as home base while you head out to explore the rest of the island. Crab races, Character Dance Parties, Scuttle's Cove Youth Club, Pelican Plunge floating slides, Spring-A-Leak water play area, and lunch at Cookies Too are all included, along with so many other activities. Of course, there are additional Port Adventures you can book if you want even more excitement, but without spending another dime, you'll have the best beach day you can imagine at Castaway Cay, Anthony!

I always suggest to families that if they only want one beach day on their trip, they'll have the best one on Castaway Cay! When you're in Nassau, the public beach closest to the cruise port is Junkanoo Beach, just a short 15 minute walk from the port terminal. However nothing is included there, so you'd need to rent beach chairs and it does get pretty crowded. Honestly though, I'd recommend booking a Port Adventure in Nassau, whether it be to Blue Lagoon for a beach day (which is amazingly beautiful and relaxing) or to Atlantis to explore the resort and enjoy their beach. Besides beach days, there are some other great adventures in Nassau too, Anthony.

Stop back if you have other questions! Happy planning!
