Hiya, Mckenna, and welcome to planDisney! Let's talk about one of my favorite pastimes: eating!
As a plant-based eater, I have been impressed with how accommodating
Walt Disney World Resort can be when special dietary requests are made. Let's look at how you can prepare for a visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth.
First, I suggest you contact the
Special Dietary Requests team a couple of weeks before you arrive. You can email them at special.diets@disneyworld.com, and a Cast Member will respond with suggestions.
Also, I've found that letting my server know my needs often results in a one-on-one consultation with the chef at most
Disney restaurants. My niece is allergic to carrots, so we often double-check with the chefs. Again, I have found them to be very accommodating.
There's no guarantee they'll be able to do the exact substitutions you request, but I feel confident they will offer suggestions. Typically, delicious suggestions!
My final tip is to pack a picnic lunch with foods you know your family can enjoy. All four theme parks have areas where you can have some sit-down family time.
We recently discovered picnic tables behind Ye Old Christmas Shoppe in
Magic Kingdom Park and had a snack break in that out-of-the-way nook. It would be the perfect spot to unpack a cooler.
If that's what you decide, review the guidelines for what's allowed on the
Property Rules page. And remember that you can also
rent lockers at the theme parks.
Mckenna, I'm sprinkling pixie dust and butter cookies so you'll have a delectable visit soon. Please
stop by planDisney anytime!
Magic awaits,
Elaine
