My family is staying at the Wilderness Lodge from 8/18 to 8/25. Will the children 2-5 like it there? I have never stayed at a Disney Deluxe Resort before. The three young grandchildren have never been to WDW. Can't wait to see their faces!!!

    Hi Helen,

We love Wilderness Lodge, as a matter of fact, it is our Disney Vacation CLub property. The resort theming is amazing, from the moment you step inside the towering lobby you will think you have been whisked away to a Northern Lodge. Plus in my opinion, you can never go wrong with Disney World's Deluxe properties...they are top of the line for sure.

There are a number of amenities that you and your grandchildren can enjoy at the resort. Bikes and a variety of boats are available for rent. Buttons and Bells is the arcade located off of the main lobby, and there is a great health club too. The large pool off of the back lobby area appears to be carved directly out of the rocks and offers a kiddie pool, hot tub, slides and a squirting geyser. There is a great gift shop in the lobby and two table service restaurants called Artist Point (fine dining atmosphere) and Whispering Canyon Cafe (a lively, loud family fun location), as well as a counter service option at the Roaring Forks. There is also a great children's program housed here called the Cubs Den. It is available, for approximately $10 per child per hour, for ages 4 to 12. The Den is full of supervised activities like crafts, movies and games. My kids just enjoy lounging in the overstuffed couches in the lobby and enjoying the massive fireplace.

I am positive your family will love their time there. Be sure to ask about being Family of the Day. This special treat allows one family per day to go up on the roof of the WIlderness Lodge and help with the AMerican Flag. It is a great honor and treat for sure!
