Hi Steve!
Thanksgiving is a fantastic time of year to visit Walt Disney World! In fact, I love it so much that I'll be celebrating the holiday there with my own family this year. Like you, we're busy planning our meals for our vacation. As you can imagine, Thanksgiving is a popular day to visit, so you'll want to make your choices and reservations just as soon as possible. You can do that by going
online or calling (407) WDW-DINE (939-3463).
All restaurants will be open and most table-service restaurants will be offering some sort of traditional feast - turkey, stuffing, potatoes, gravy and vegetables. Many of the quick-service locations will even offer a little something special to gobble up in celebration of the day. Official details haven't yet been announced, but I'd expect those to be similar to what's been offered in past years. My favorite site for this information is www.wdwinfo.com (just search "Thanksgiving"). I'd also expect more official information to be announced on the
Disney Parks Blog a little closer to Thanksgiving Day.
A few of my personal favorite restaurants are listed below, but I don't think you'll be disappointed with any spot you choose.
Artist Point at Disney's Wilderness Lodge
Cape May Cafe at Disney's Yacht & Beach Club
Liberty Tree Tavern at Magic Kingdom
Mickey's Backyard Thanksgiving Feast at Disney's Fort Wilderness
Wishing you delicious dining and a Happy Thanksgiving, Steve! Please let us know if you have any other questions as you make your vacation plans.
