Hi, Jo!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. The monorail is my family's favorite mode of transport at Walt Disney World! My 7-year-old daughter asks to ride it on every trip! You won't need to worry about not having the park hopper option on your tickets because the monorail stations are located
outside of the Magic Kingdom and Epcot park entrances. If you're at Magic Kingdom, you can hop on the Resort Monorail line and ride the complete circuit all the way around. You'll get a fantastic view of all three Deluxe resorts (Contemporary, Polynesian and Grand Floridian) along this circuit. If you have some time, you may want to stop off at one (or all!) of these resorts - there are gift shops, quick-service dining options and even boat rentals at the marinas.
You can also take either the Resort or Express Monorail line to the Ticket and Transportation Center where you would change lines to continue on to Epcot. I would definitely recommend taking the monorail to Epcot because the track actually loops into the park and back out again to stop at the station. You're treated to an incredible elevated perspective of the Future World section of Epcot, including a very cool view of the iconic Spaceship Earth. For more information on the
Walt Disney World monorail routes, just follow the highlighted link.
When your monorail ride is over, you can easily catch a bus back to Pop Century from the Magic Kingdom or Epcot bus depots. Or if you're up for more adventure in the parks, you can re-enter the same park you visited earlier that same day using your regular admission ticket.
Wishing you a
magical vacation, Jo! I hope your girls have fun riding the monorail! Please don't hesitate to send more questions as you count down the days to your visit to
The Happiest Place on Earth.
