My family and I will be staying at the Fort Wilderness campsites this June. Will we still have the ability to purchase items in the park and have them sent directly to our RV, or is that not an option because we won't be staying in an actual room?

    Hi Cheryl,

Even at the non-campground resorts, park merchandise purchases are not delivered to guest rooms. Instead they are delivered to a package pickup desk at the hotel gift shop. A similar process happens at Fort Wilderness. If you use merchandise delivery from the parks, your package will be sent to one of the FW trading posts.

When you purchase something in the Disney parks, simply tell them at the register that you'd like to use the resort merchandise delivery service. The cashier will give you a very simple form to fill out with your name, address, and your your site number. They'll hand you a receipt and the next day you can retrieve your merchandise at the Package Pickup desk at the Trading Post. The only thing to think about is that it does take at least 24 hours for packages to be delivered, so you can't use this service on the last day of your trip. You should also know that the merchandise delivery service will not transport food items. Even if you purchase things like packaged cookies or candy, you'll have to transport them yourself.

For more information on this topic, you may want to visit the independent website blog.touringplans.com and search there for an article called "Moving Merchandise at Walt Disney World: Getting Goods to Your Hotel and Shipping Stuff Home." You'll see photos there of the transfer request form and the package pickup desks.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know what else we can do to help.
