My family is going to be staying at Disney’s Polynesian Resort this coming February. I would like to stop at a grocery store on the way from the Orlando Airport to the Hotel. Do you have a suggestion on what store would be the most convenient to stop at?

    Hey there, Katie,

Thanks for bringing us your question. I'm happy to help!

My family enjoyed a stay at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort in 2022 and I've been thinking about the beautifully themed Moana rooms and that incredible Lava Pool with a view of Cinderella Castle, ever since. We especially loved that it was just two Monorail stops away from Magic Kingdom Park- a proximity that certainly came in handy after a late night at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. I also made some magical memories with a group of my fellow planDisney panelists on the resort's sandy shores just last fall. Your family is sure to love each magical minute spent soaking up the enchanting tropical vibes!

I took a quick look online and found a Winn-Dixie conveniently located off I-4 when traveling from Orlando International Airport. If you're a fan of Publix you'll also find one in Regency Village Shopping Center traveling via FL-417 from the airport, and a bunch of other options, including a Walmart in the surrounding areas. Hopefully, you'll find everything you need before arriving for your magical stay, but you'll also have plenty of dining options on-site at the Polynesian, too!

Capt. Cook's is a great option for a meal any time of day, and you'll find many grab-and-go items in the refrigerator cases like yogurt, Babybel cheese and assorted beverages. We like placing a Mobile Order for Pulled Pork Nachos to enjoy on the outdoor patio as we soak in the island sounds.  I'd also recommend making an advance dining reservation at Kona Cafe for breakfast one morning. My husband and I stopped in for some Tonga Toast and a stack of incredible Macadamia Nut Pancakes on our departure day last year and we were full almost the entire drive home to North Carolina.

I hope this helped, Katie. Please chase the line where the sky meets the sea back to planDisney with more planning questions. We're always glad to help fellow voyagers navigate their way around Walt Disney World Resort. In the words of Maui, "What can I say except your welcome?"

    Magic and memories,
    Amy
