Mike from CA Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

My family is staying in the Disney Hotel. My parents are staying offsite. About the monorail- are guests allowed to come.to our hotel room via the monorail? Is there a pass they can purchase to get to use it?

    Hi there, Mike!

Welcome aboard the planDisney Monorail! We're now beginning our two and a half paragraph response about the Downtown Disney Station and Tomorrowland. For a safe trip, remain seated, keeping your hands, arms, feet, and legs inside the cabin. Be sure to watch your children—and no smoking, please.

All kidding aside, Mike, I'm happy to help answer your question about your upcoming stay at the Disneyland Resort. I actually just returned from a trip out there where I stayed off-site and my sister's family stayed at Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel, so I understand how important it is to be able to easily meet up with your group.

The Disneyland Monorail travels between Tomorrowland inside Disneyland Park and the Downtown Disney District. As long as your parents have a valid Theme Park Ticket and park reservation for Disneyland Park, they will be allowed to ride the Monorail. Since the Tomorrowland Station is inside the Park, Guests without a Theme Park Ticket will not be allowed into either station. From the Downtown Disney Station, it's a short walk to any of the three Disneyland Resort Hotels. If your parents have already entered Disneyland Park, then the Monorail is a great way to get closer to your hotel.

If your parents are meeting you first thing in the morning, it will likely be more efficient for them to either walk to your hotel or meet you somewhere in Downtown Disney. Using the Monorail means that they will have to have entered Disneyland Park first in order to access Tomorrowland Station.

Which Disneyland Resort Hotel did you choose? You can't go wrong with any of them, but my favorite is the original Disneyland Hotel! I love how it honors and preserves the history of Disneyland and Walt's vision for the Park. In fact, there's a wonderful episode of Behind The Attraction on Disney+ about the Disneyland Hotel that's very informative and entertaining!

Mike, I hope that this was useful for you. On behalf of all of us at planDisney, thanks for visiting with us, and we hope you have a happy and memorable visit to the Disneyland Resort! Please feel free to write back anytime if you need anything further. You're always welcome at planDisney!

Wishing You a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow!

Meet the Panelist: Al, California

Ahoy there from the heart of Steinbeck Country in central California! I've been visiting the Disneyland Resort since childhood and fell in love with the sense of absolute immersion that the Imagineers have achieved. My favorite attraction is Pirates of the Caribbean because where else can you go from a California day to an evening boat ride in the bayou with "salty old pirates"? I'm a veterinarian and an all-around Disney geek and enthusiast. I'd love to help you plan your next Disneyland trip! Learn More About Al
