Hello Emily! Welcome to planDisney!
Walt Disney World Resort is even better when you get to share your magical experiences with friends and family! I remember many years ago when my best friend's family was visiting the Resort the same week as my family was. It was an absolute blast to have her there with me and it became the first of many trips that we took together. Now that we both have families of our own were hoping to make a plan to get back to The Most Magical Place on Earth together again!
It is certainly possible for you and your family to visit each other at your respective
Disney Resorts Collection hotels. Many times, Guests of Walt Disney World take a day "off" from the Theme Parks and spend the day relaxing in their Resort's pool or "Resort hopping." Because each and every Disney Resort has such exquisite and unique theming, it's a perfect way to spend a day exploring and deciding where you want to stay on a future trip!
If you're planning to visit each other by using
Disney's complimentary transportation you'll be able to arrive right from the Theme Parks or
Disney Springs and head in to visit. On the other hand, if you plan on driving and parking at the Resort you will need to stop by the security stand outside of each Resort and explain that you're visiting a friend and show your ID. A great way to get together and get a "taste" of another Resort is to plan on a dining reservation while you're there! Places like
'Ohana at
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort or
Boma - Flavors of Africa at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, will really immerse you in the theming of the Resort.
Just a friendly reminder, only registered Guests will be able to swim in the pools of their respective Resorts, so plan on exploring, touring, chatting, and dining while you visit with your family and check out their home away from home!
I hope you have an incredible vacation, Emily!
