Hi , My family will be staying at CS in August 2016 and I am wondering if there is anyway to find out about conventions that may be booked around the time of our stay. Thanks...

Good evening, Foolish Mortal Lisa! I have heard your rap on the table, it's time for me to respond. Rather than answering from only my direct knowledge, I decided to seek an answer from the great beyond. I summoned Madame Leota this evening, as she has a remarkable head for materializing Guests' plans. Despite use of her most brilliant incantations, her vision was a bit cloudy on the subject of future Resort conventions. Maybe next time we will find a few grim grinning ghosts ready to socialize with a bit of information for us!

It seems that there is no formal convention calendar put forth by the Resort and, just as Guests' plans often change, so do convention plans. There are several Walt Disney World Resort hotels that are convention centers, one of which is Disney's Coronado Springs Resort. I have stayed at this Resort both when it was hosting a large convention and when there were no conventions scheduled. As the conventioneers were usually busy throughout the day with meetings, we rarely saw them at the pools or in the dining locations during the day. It was a bit more crowded in the evening, but I noticed the crowds thinned quickly as they headed out to enjoy Disney Springs or one of the theme parks. With so many conventions being held across the Resort on a monthly basis, there is usually not a significant impact on the theme parks.

My advice for you is to just plan your vacation however you would like to experience it. There are so many ways to make a Disney Parks vacation unforgettable. If you would like a few ideas on how to make it extra magical, stop by here again and ask more questions. We always love to help Guests conjure up extra pixie dust!
