Our family of 5 will be staying at the Contemporary Resort. However, we are wondering if the Cabins at Fort Wilderness would be better for our 3 young children. Any advice on which resort is better for a family of 5?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Dana! I’m so happy to see that you’re busy planning a family vacation to the Walt Disney World Resort for next Autumn

I’ve had the pleasure of staying at both Disney Resort hotels. Disney’s Contemporary Resort is so iconic, beautiful and modern. It’s also super close to the Magic Kingdom Park, making it so easy to get back to your room to rest after a long and adventure filled day!

I do have to confess; I am partial to The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. It’s always my family’s first choice because there’s so much room to spread out. The bedroom boasts a queen-sized bed and twin bunk beds. There’s also a great pull out bed in the family room. I always really like having a fully equipped kitchen! I baked cupcakes for my girls, using the convection microwave oven over the thanksgiving holiday, in my cabin this year.

Often times, we also use the outside grill for cooking and sit on the deck to enjoy the magical outdoors over lunch or dinner.

Renting a golf cart makes it that much more fun and convenient to get around this resort. You can park it at the marina when you want to take the water taxi to the Magic Kingdom Park

Dana, since your trip seems to be around mid-October, you may get to see some of the Halloween spirit at the RV sites and campsites. Many call it a home away from home, so you can see lots of great decorations!

I hope this information is helpful to you. Please feel free to come back to see us if you have any more planning questions. Helping you with the details of your next magical visit is our pleasure!
