My family of 4 are staying at club level AKL standard room using DVC points, but we want to upgrade to a larger space. We are willing to pay cash for the difference, is this possible?

    Hi Alina!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! A Club Level room at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is on my Disney bucket list, but I have yet to stay there. The resort itself however is my family’s favorite so I’m sure you’ll have a magical stay!

Rooms booked with Disney Vacation Club Vacation Points are not upgradable, either with points or cash. Also, you cannot pay for a resort room in both points and cash on the same reservation. You can have part of your stay on Vacation Points, along with a second reservation made with cash, but not a combination on a single reservation.

If a larger room was available, you can have your current points reservation canceled, and you may rebook the larger accommodation if you have enough Vacation Points. If you have any questions about rebooking, or want to check on availability of larger Deluxe Villas such as a 1 or 2 Bedrooms, I would call Member Services to inquire about any possible changes. If you are only a few points short of a larger room reservation, you can also inquire about purchasing special One Time Use Points from Member Services to complete your reservation. I would think however that at this late of a date, availability is probably unlikely, especially for Club Level rooms. Even if you are not able to change to a large room, I’m sure you will still have a wonderful stay at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas. Be sure to check out the night-vision animal viewing, and I always recommend trying a Zebra Dome dessert from The Mara, the resort's quick-service dining location. They are amazing!

    Wishing you Membership Magic!
