My family will be staying in the cabins at Fort Wilderness. Does the resort store carry major grocery items such as meats, fruit, and dairy or is it just your basic snack items?

    Hi Yvette,

The trading posts at Fort Wilderness are stocked much like the resorts that have DVC villas. They carry some basic grocery items like boxed cereal, canned soup, a loaf of bread, milk, soda, hot dogs, frozen pizza etc. If you go to the independent website DisneyFoodBlog.com and search for a series of articles called DVC Villa Kitchens, you'll find that one of the posts lists all the items sold in this type of shop at WDW.

What you won't find at the Trading Posts are fresh meats and vegetables. If you want to do read cooking with these perishables, you should either plan to visit a nearby grocery store, either with your own car or a taxi. Or, there are a number of grocery delivery services that will bring fresh food to you. The most popular of these is gardengrocer.com. You don't even have to be there when they deliver, the resort can accept your order and keep it cold for you while you're out.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know if you have additional questions.
