My family will be staying at the AK Kidani Village? Can you give me advice on the travel time between the parks? For example our first morning we have reservations for breakfast crystal palace at 8:30, how early should we leave?

    Hi Veronica!

Your vacation is just around the corner, and you are going to love Kidani Village! We are Disney Vacation Club Members, and Animal Kingdom Villas is our Home Resort. Kidani Village is our absolute favorite resort at Walt Disney World. There is nothing like coming home after a busy day in the parks to the quiet drumbeats and soft lanterns lighting the entrance of Kidani Village.

While geographically Kidani Village is a bit farther from the theme parks, I find the transportation very efficient and actual travel time is similar to many other resorts. I most decidedly do not like to be late and would rather arrive with time to spare, so I generally plan at least one hour of travel time from my room to the gates of one of the theme parks. This allows a few minutes for my kids to run late, a few more to walk to the bus stop, time to wait for a bus and actual travel time to the parks. If I am headed to an Advance Dining Reservation inside a park, I add an additional 10 to 15 minutes of travel time. This gives us time to get through the bag check, into the park and walk to our destination. If we have made good time, this leaves a few extra minutes for a family photo on Main Street, U.S.A.

If driving, I still feel an hour is a good rule of thumb. For the Magic Kingdom, you would need to park in the Magic Kingdom’s parking lot, then get from the Ticket and Transportation Center to the gates of the Magic Kingdom via Ferry or Monorail. This can take longer than some Guests anticipate, and so one hour is still a good plan. Keep in mind that it is requested that your entire dining party arrive 10 minutes prior to your Advance Dining Reservation.

I hope you have an amazing adventure at Kidani Village, and a honey of a good breakfast at The Crystal Palace with Winnie the Pooh and Friends!
