My family (me, spouse, girl 5 and boy 3) are considering a trip Dec. 16-23. We've been once, stayed at the Polynesian, and loved it (but spolied the kiddos). This time, looking at Art of Animation or Pop Century. Suggestions between the two?

    Hi Chris,

Thanks so much for sending me your question and hello from a fellow Missourian!  I'm so excited to hear you're planning your second trip!  One of the best things about Walt Disney World is the variety of resorts available, so it can be a touch decision.  Disney's Pop Century Resort and Disney's Art of Animation Resort are similar in many ways - location, cost and having dedicated bus service to the parks - and I don't think you'd be disappointed with either one.

Personally, there are lots of things I really love about Art of Animation, so I think it has some advantages.  The theming there is absolutely amazing, and since it's based on classic Disney movies (Finding Nemo, The Little Mermaid, Cars and The Lion King), I think your kids would enjoy it as much as you.  The 3 pools here are also among the best...including The Big Blue Pool, which is the largest at Walt Disney World.  It's also heated (important in December) and plays music underwater!  Nearby are the Schoolyard Sprayground splash area, 2 smaller pools and The Drop Off pool bar.  Art of Animation has really stepped up the game with their quick-service dining options, too.  They have a huge menu at Landscape of Flavors, including some "create-your-own" burger and salad options.

It's not surprising that Art of Animation is an incredibly popular choice, so it's often not included in the Special Offers and can be a little more expensive than the other Value Resorts.  Rooms (especially The Little Mermaid standard rooms) can sell out quickly, but opting for a Family Suite that sleeps 6 is also a great option if your budget allows.  If price is a main consideration, Pop Century wins out since it's often the most affordable option on property.

I know that no matter which hotel you choose, your vacation will be full of pixie dust!  If I can help answer any other questions, please just stop back by to ask.
