Hi. Me and my family have six day tickets we're planning to use for next year but was wondering if it would be possible to upgrade only a couple of those days to parkhopper. Or would we have to upgrade the whole of the six tickets?

    Hi Alexandra,

One of the things that I find appealing about spending a week at Disney World is that you can visit each theme park more than once. You have a few ticket options when visiting the theme parks that depend entirely on how you want to enjoy your day. You cannot upgrade only a few days of your ticket to include the Park Hopper Option. You will need to go all in on the Park Hopper tickets or stay with 1 park-per-day ticket for the entirety of the trip.

If your goal is to ride every single ride and attraction, I find that it is easier to do this by visiting one park each day for the first 4 days and then using the next 2 days to revisit the theme parks where you were not able to experience everything. For my family, we typically do a single day at Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom and reserve 2 days for Magic Kingdom and EPCOT. This method limits travel time between theme parks and also decreases walking time when we are traveling with friends or family with mobility issues.

I have recently started getting the Park Hopper Option and love the freedom and flexibility it offers to go back and forth between any of the theme parks on a given day. We have jumped into park hopping by embracing the great transportation options between theme parks and resorts! Some paths between theme parks are easier than others. For example, hopping between EPCOT and Magic Kingdom or EPCOT and Hollywood Studios is super easy. You just board the monorail or the Disney Skyliner and go from door to door.  We enjoy park hopping to EPCOT in the evening to take advantage of some of the amazing restaurants that you couldn't possibly experience by spending just one day there.

The great thing about these options is that if you start your trip with the 1 Park Per Day ticket option and find yourself wishing it were enhanced with the Park Hopper Option, you can change your ticket. All you have to do is go to the My Disney Experience app, navigate to your ticket by clicking on the three lines in the bottom right, and then click "My Tickets & Passes." Click "Upgrade Pass" and pay the difference to upgrade the remaining days of your ticket to include the Park Hopper Option. If you cannot get the app to work, run over to Guest Services, and they can make the switch for you.

    Happy Planning,
    Jenna
