Hi there, Erin!
It is great to see you again here at planDisney! I hope your Mediterranean cruise plans that you were working on last year are coming together nicely.
Wow, you have another cruise coming up soon! This is such exciting news! You will begin your
Disney Wish cruise as a
Castaway Club Gold Member. You can now add cruise activities 105 days prior to sailing, and complete your online check-in and select your port arrival time 35 days before you set sail.
Now, let's talk
DisneyBand+! On my recent cruise, I enjoyed the convenience of DisneyBand+ when boarding the ship and for things like opening my stateroom door with ease. There were lots of magical moments that the DisneyBand+ alerted me to around the ship, especially during Fireworks at Sea, Character Experiences, and
Rotational Dining. So, all in all, it added to the magic for me.
As to purchasing food and drinks, the convenience level varied. At some venues, I did not have to remove my band, but at others I did. It was nice to have the band right at my fingertips (or wrist, as the case may be) ready to go when I needed to give it to the Crew Member. You will need to sign a paper receipt for items for which a gratuity might be appropriate, such as in the lounges and bars. I did not have to sign a receipt when making purchases at gift shops like
Mickey's Mainsail, which was helpful.
Erin, if you have a
MagicBand+ from a previous Walt Disney World Resort or Disneyland Resort vacation, you can use that onboard Disney Cruise Line. If so, I suggest you give it a try before
purchasing a specially-themed Disney Cruise Line DisneyBand+. You can only use one band per sailing, so if you change your mind during the cruise and purchase a DisneyBand+ onboard, you will need to visit
Guest Services and have your band selection updated.
I hope this information helps you with your decision-making, Erin. Please let me know if you have other questions; I'm happy to help! Bon voyage!
Wishing you many magical memories,
Shannon
