Hi there, Kristina, so glad to chat with you here at planDisney!
Dining in the ambiance of the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction at
Disneyland Park is a special treat. The
Blue Bayou Restaurant transports you deep into the bayou as you watch passengers embark on a moonlit, swashbuckling adventure. I’m excited to share insight on
dining reservations and offer tips for your future trip with the littlest pirate!
Dining reservations at the Disneyland Resort are first-come, first-served, and based on availability. The window for reservations opens up 60 days in advance, and you can make reservations through the
Disneyland website or the
Disneyland app. Make sure that you are logged into your MyDisney account so everything links up, and you must have a theme park reservation on the day of your dining reservation. If you happen to see the date you want is booked, make sure to check back often up to the same day. You may have to be flexible about the time as other guests may cancel the day before or the day of opening up a spot. You will also need a credit card to guarantee the reservation in advance, and if you don’t cancel within two hours you may be charged a per person fee. If you’re feeling pirate-lucky, you may be able to join the
mobile walk-up dining list, which is a same-day reservation as soon as a spot opens up. Did you know that if you stay at a
Disneyland Resort hotel you have access to
preferred dining reservations during your stay? Make sure your hotel confirmation is linked to your MyDisney account holding your theme park reservation.
Three days of park hopping magic should provide enough time for your family to experience both parks. I highly recommend that you check out the
Tip Board in the Disneyland app to enter your preferences and just like magic, it will populate an itinerary for you each day based on what your family hopes to experience, including dining, attractions, and entertainment.
Your family will be arriving during the week of the
D23 Ultimate Disney Fan Event (August 8 - 11 with August 8th being D23 Disneyland Day). There may be more noticeable crowds during that week so I recommend getting to the parks early, staying hydrated, and if you can, purchasing
Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass to make the most of your time. You can select day-of
reservations for attractions with this service and once you enter a theme park, you can make selections based on availability at that theme park.
I sure hope this is helpful, Kristina! I’m wishing on a star that you and your family get to experience dining at the Blue Bayou, and have a magical time in just a few weeks! If you happen to have any other questions before your visit, feel free to
message me again directly.
Magic awaits!
Camille
