Hi, Julie! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am so glad to see you are heading back for more pixie-dusted adventures at Walt Disney World Resort. The various Disney Dining Plans are such a wonderful addition to your Magic Your Way Vacation Package. When your family is hungry, there are
over a hundred dining locations you can visit to use your Quick Service entitlements.
The 2018 Disney Dining Plans have changed a bit this year, so yours is a really great question. If you purchased a dining plan during your previous trips, you will remember that the entrée, beverage, and dessert were all included in a meal entitlement. This year, a Quick Service meal includes one entrée and one single-serving beverage, non-alcoholic for guests under age 21 or optional alcoholic for guests over age 21. You will also find that you are provided with two snack entitlements each day. I really appreciated this change since it gave us the flexibility to either use that snack entitlement to purchase dessert with our meal or we could save it for later use (hurray for extra afternoon Dole Whip Floats!).
Julie, I recently spoke with a Cast Member about substitutions when using the
Disney Quick Service Dining Plans. I was told that guests would not be able to substitute a snack credit-designated item for the beverage. However, I do know several of my fellow Panelists who have requested this while they were ordering and were allowed to do so. So, my advice to you is to go ahead and politely ask, because you never know when your wish may be granted!
Thank you so much for stopping by with your question. Please let us know if you have any other questions as you continue to plan your upcoming vacation!
