My, oh my, Leslie! You’ll be spending the most magical time of year at The Most Magical Place on Earth. Does it get any better than that? I don’t think so!
Walt Disney World Resort is special at any time of year, but even more so during the holiday season!
To answer your question, Leslie, this is completely up to you. If you’re willing to accept the risk that Magic Kingdom could reach capacity and you would be at peace with that, then taking a midday break can be a good option. My family and I always like to take a midday break as well. Plus, if you have
Park Hopper tickets and Magic Kingdom were to reach capacity, you could hop to another park for the afternoon.
Having said that, if you don’t want to risk it, there are certainly ways to take a break inside the park. One way we like to take a break without leaving the park is to make a lunch reservation at a table-service restaurant. One of my personal favorites is
Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen in Adventureland. This is a great way to sit down in some AC, grab a cold beverage and enjoy a nice meal. We’ve found this to be a perfect midday reset on several occasions. You could also continue your afternoon slow down by heading to
The Beak and Barrel near the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction for an afternoon beverage! My personal favorite is the Treasure Trove. It’s served with a Vanilla Cake Plank, a Chocolate Cannonball, and Golden Caramel Popcorn. It’s a perfect dessert beverage! Alternatively, I absolutely love
Columbia Harbour House. It’s my favorite quick-service restaurant at Magic Kingdom. There’s lovely seating on the second floor that is typically much quieter than the main floor. You can easily spend an hour or so here enjoying a nice meal and just getting off your feet for a while.
If you haven’t already considered it, Leslie,
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom and
Disney Jollywood Nights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios are perfect ways to add a little something extra to an already magical visit. Both events are tons of fun and I highly recommend them!
