We are a family of 4 planning to visit WDW in late July/early August 2012. I thought Port Orleans Riverside would be enough space for us, but the kids will be 13 and 12, too big for the trundle. Any suggestions on where to stay to give them their space?

    Hi Andrea!

Two words: Bunk Beds!! Our kids LOVE the resorts that have bunk beds! They really enjoy having their own separate bed, and not having to share with each other (or Mom & Dad)! It saves on Mom's sanity too!

Two of my favorite resorts feature bunk beds: Animal Kingdom Lodge and Wilderness Lodge. Both of these resorts offer a separate room category where you can choose to reserve a bunk bed room. Of these two, its very difficult to pick a favorite but I have to give a slight edge to the Wilderness Lodge. The location of the lodge and the quick boat to the Magic Kingdom makes travel super easy during short vacations.

The Animal Kingdom Lodge is incredible too! Where else can you enjoy watching an African safari from your balcony room!

If you are interested in some other options, the All Star Family Suites will give you extra beds as well.  Some resorts offer a 3rd bed: Port Orleans offers a trundle bed and the Contemporary, Polynesian, Yacht Club and a few other deluxe resorts also offer a day bed that a tween should have no trouble fitting in.

    Hope this helps!
