My family is planning a trip to WDW and staying at the Polynesian Resort. One of the family members will need a scooter to get around. Will they be able to get around in Polynesian resort, the room, elevators, monorail, etc. with a scooter?

Aloha, Jarrod, and a warm welcome to planDisney! I'm so glad you stopped by with your question. Planning a Walt Disney World vacation is such a fun adventure. I always think the magic starts the moment you begin dreaming up the details. There's just something about the excitement of counting down the days and imagining everything you'll get to experience.

And wow, Disney's Polynesian Village Resort? What an amazing choice! That resort has such a special vibe. The second you walk into the lobby, you really do feel like you've been whisked away to a little island paradise. At night, the tiki torches glow, the palm trees sway, and if you look across the Seven Seas Lagoon, you'll catch the most stunning view of Cinderella Castle...it's honestly breathtaking.

One of the things I love most about staying at the Poly is how convenient it is. You can hop right on the Monorail to get to Magic Kingdom and EPCOT. And don't even get me started on the food...grabbing a DOLE Whip from Pineapple Lanai is always at the top of my must-do list.

I'm happy to share that your family member should find getting around with a scooter practically perfect in every way. The Polynesian, and all of Walt Disney World Resort, is designed with accessibility in mind. You'll find smooth, paved walkways and thoughtfully planned paths throughout the property, along with accessible highlights like automatic doors and ramps. Every mode of Disney transportation, whether it's the Monorail, buses, watercrafts, or the Disney Skyliner, can accommodate scooters, making it easy to travel from place to place.

If your family member reserved an accessible room, they'll have plenty of space to move around comfortably with their scooter inside. If that's not the case, many Guests simply choose to park their scooter right outside their room and charge it in the hallway overnight, which works out well, too.

I'm not sure when your visit is planned, but I'd definitely suggest keeping an eye on the Disney Parks Blog. It's the best place to stay up to date on all the exciting things coming to Walt Disney World, and it's a great way to make sure you don't miss out on any of the fun!

Thanks for visiting us at planDisney, Jarrod! If you have any other questions, feel free to come see us again!
