My family and I are planning a trip to Walt Disney World in July. We are staying at the Saratoga Springs Resort. I am traveling with my husband and two sons (11 &4). Can you make a suggestion of which section of he resort would be best for us?

    Hi Valerie!

July is a great time to stay at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa. With two exciting feature pools and three leisure pools, you’ll have plenty of ways to enjoy the summer weather. You’ll also be only a boat ride or short walk from Downtown Disney. A lot of excitement is going on at Downtown Disney right now with new retail and dining locations opening throughout the next several months as it transforms into the newly reimagined Disney Springs.

For families with children, I often recommend requesting The Springs area. This is the section that is most central to High Rock Spring Pool, dining and shopping options. It is also an approximate 20 minute walk to Downtown Disney, or an even closer walk to the boat dock if you would like to take the water taxi. Alternately, if being close to Downtown Disney is important to you, Congress Park is another good area to request. With the new pedestrian bridge, it took my family about 10 minutes to walk from the Downtown Disney Marketplace to Congress Park. While it is about a 10 minute walk from Congress Park to one of the feature pools, there is a leisure pool located right in Congress Park for a relaxing swim, as well as a playground and a grilling area.

I hope this helps you with your planning, Valerie. Please keep in mind that while Cast Members will do their best to honor your request, they can never be guaranteed. In my experience, the more general the request, such as requesting a specific area as you plan to do, rather than a specific room, tend to be more successful. Sending you pixie dust for room request luck!

    Have a magical day!
