My family of 12 to 16 are planning a trip for May 2017. I want to stay on property but some of my family is on a VERY tight budget. What suggestions do you have for all of us staying on site?

    Hi Dana!

Congratulations on your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World (WDW)! You are definitely smart to plan ahead for your May 2017 trip. The great news about WDW is that there is an experience for every budget. If you are on a tight budget you will want to consider staying at one of the value resorts.

Since you are traveling with a large party, you may want to consider staying at the Art of Animation (which is a value resort) and requesting adjoining rooms so your party can stay together. The Art of Animation resort has family suites that can accommodate up to six individuals. These rooms also come equipped with a kitchenette so you can prepare meals in your room. Make a stop at a local grocery store when you arrive to stock up on essentials, and you can prepare breakfast in your room each day before you leave for the parks. This will save money and allow for relaxing family time before you hit the parks. Also consider spending a day at the resort to relax by the pool and play at the arcade. You can make all of your meals in your room and enjoy all the resort has to offer while saving money. You will also want to set a budget for souvenirs. I always tell my kids they can pick ONE thing when we are there, and this helps save money (and space in your suitcase).

    Magically,
    Stacy
