Hi Amanda,
A trip to sunny Florida in the middle of a chilly January sounds like a
wonderful idea! I know that you and your family will have a BLAST during your visit!
While I do love the
Disney Dining Plans because they make keeping track of our meals and our budget really simple, I do think that if you have a picky eater that isn't going to eat very much, you might be better off to simply pay as you go. The Disney Dining Plan includes a LOT of food with two meals and two snacks per night of your stay, so you'd have to consider if your little guy would really eat all of that. While you will need to pay for him at any meals served family-style or with a buffet, you are welcome to share plates at most other restaurants. If you feel like he's only going to eat a little bit, that could be a great way to save some costs on your meals.
Did you know, too, that
you're able to bring your own food and beverages into the theme parks? There are a few restrictions, such as no glass bottles, food that needs to be heated, or large coolers, but feel free to bring some things along with you that you
know your Mouseketeer will eat and love!
Thanks so much for visiting us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Amanda, and please let us know if you have any other questions as you're planning your trip. I hope that you and your family have a truly magical vacation!
Missy
