My family and I our planning our first visit at the end of Feb and were wondering where were some good spots for wishes and illumination. Also how far in advance should we start looking for a spot. Is it frowned upon to take turns saving a spot.

    Hi Nathan,

I love first visits to the Walt Disney World Resorts! There is so much magic to see but I highly recommend that less is more on a first trip as you can always come back.

For Wishes, I recommend over by Sleepy Hollow in Liberty Square. This spot is great because you can get a delicious treat while watching the fireworks. I also like Frontierland or in Gaston's Square in Fantasyland. However, if you want the best spot, take a boat to the Polynesian Resort and watch it from the beach.

For Illuminations, any spot around World Showcase will work. This show not only has fireworks but a show on the lagoon which the countries sit around. Japan is my favorite spot as you can sit on the steps of the pagoda and watch.

If you are saving a spot right next to you, you should be fine to hold a seat or two. Anything else would not be magical.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
