Hi, Amanda!
A first visit to Walt Disney World is amazing, but can seem a bit overwhelming! Let's start with some money saving tips.
If you are looking for a nice resort on a budget, choose a Value Resort. Pop Century is my favorite. Book a Standard Room and request a room in the 1950's section. You are just a short walk to the food court and bus stops, but not too close to the main pool so you can get some quiet time for naps. When choosing tickets, avoid pricey add-ons like park hopping and water parks unless you absolutely plan to do those things. This can save you quite a bit of money! Check
HERE for any special offers during your travel dates. Hopefully the summer promotions will be listed soon.
A nice week long vacation sounds fantastic! Make sure to take a day off from parks to catch your breath. Use your "day off" for laying at the pool, heading to Downtown Disney for shopping, dining, or a movie, or exploring resorts! Spend an evening taking a tour on the Resort Monorail line. Book a fun dinner at Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary then head to the Polynesian beach to see the fireworks from the Magic Kingdom.
Here is a sample of what I would do on a 7 day vacation
Arrival day/Day 1: get settled, explore your resort
Day 2: Park
Day 3: Park
Day 4: Pool/Character dinner at a resort
Day 5: Park
Day 6: Park
Day 7: Enjoy Downtown Disney before heading home.
Hope this is a start for you. As you begin planning, let us know how we can help make your vacation magical! Enjoy!
