Mom And Daughter; Animal Kingdom

    My family and I are planning our first trip to Disney. What places you would recommend that we stay? I think I have narrowed down my choices to Animal Kingdom, Wilderness Lodge, or Contemporary based on $$$ and hotel amenities.

    You've picked some great resorts for your first trip to Disney! I've been lucky enough to stay at all three of these resorts, and I can honestly say that they are all top-notch!

    Wilderness Lodge is my all-time favorite resort at Walt Disney World. The theming and decor of the Lodge are incredible! The pool area and resort grounds are perfect for a spending a relaxing afternoon (or day!) with the family. Another plus, which my two kids love, are the bunk beds that are available. If you plan to spend a large part of your vacation enjoying the Magic Kingdom, you'll enjoy the short boat ride that delivers you to the front gates of the park.

    The Contemporary is another wonderful choice. The location of this resort is unparalleled. You can hop on the monorail right in the lobby, or stroll to the Magic Kingdom. Chef Mickey's character dining is located right in the lobby as well - its a perennial favorite of many families!

    But, if your family loves animals, then Animal Kingdom Lodge might be for you! This resort is further from the Magic Kingdom than your other choices, but you may just feel like you are in Africa. Zebras, Giraffes and a variety of other exotic animals roam outside the resort. Bunk beds are also available here. Kids activities are top notch here as well: story-telling by a fire pit, musical parades, and night vision goggles (to name a few!).
