Hi there Landia, welcome to planDisney!
I'm so excited to hear that you're planning your very first trip to
Walt Disney World Resort! You have so many things to look forward to and so much excitement ahead of you! You couldn't have chosen a better time to visit, as this year is extra-magical because Walt Disney World Resort is celebrating its 50th Anniversary! Not only will the usual (and always fabulous) fireworks, attractions and characters be there, but you might just find some extra special EARidescent magic around every corner.
My family is also a family of five and even though one is still pretty little, we find that we often need a room that can sleep five people comfortably. Luckily, Walt Disney World was made for families to have fun together and there are many options for a family just like yours. The Resort categorizes its
Disney Resorts Collection hotels into three basic tiers, with a few exceptions. Depending on budget, you may choose to have your family stay at a Value, Moderate or Deluxe Resort.
Value Resorts are perfect if you're looking for quick-service food options, elaborately themed decor and plenty of places to splash in the pool! They're great for families who are trying to stick to a budget but not lose any part of the Disney magic! With options like
Disney's Art of Animation Resort, your party can even book a Family Suite, and have plenty of space to stretch out. With two bathrooms, two sleeping areas and a kitchenette, your family is sure to find the accommodations more than accommodating!
At Moderate Resorts like
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort and
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside you'll find a few upgrades from Value Resorts, like table-service restaurants and the addition of some "5th Sleeper" room options. "5th Sleeper" Guest Rooms have two Queen beds and a child-size pull-down bed, which may work perfectly for your family! While all Disney Resorts have exemplary theming, I tend to find these two Resorts transport me to a faraway place!
Last, but certainly not least, are the
Deluxe Resorts, which offer guests elegant, luxurious and convenient places to recharge after a long day at the Parks. These Resorts often have pools with waterslides, fine dining restaurants, Club Level accommodations, and are the closest Resorts to the Theme Parks. If you want to feel like Walt Disney World royalty, choose a Deluxe Resort.
Honestly, I believe ANY time of yEAR is the perfect time to visit my pals Mickey and Minnie. My favorite time is Spring because I enjoy the beauty of the
EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival, the longer days and the warmer weather. Some people love the fall because of another festival, the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, and Halloween celebrations, while others enjoy the magic of the holidays and visiting while the Resort is decked out in its holiday best!
No matter which Resort or time of yEAR you choose, I know you and your family are sure to have a truly magnificent trip!
