Hi! My family and I are planning on doing a run disney race this year. Most Likely a 10k. Which race weekend do you recommend? I have heard that in years past some races end with/include and after hours party...Which races offer those? Thanks!

    Hi Caroline!

Thank you for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. As someone who has participated in every runDisney weekend, I'm delighted to let you know that you truly can't go wrong, but I'm certainly happy to help you find what would work best for you!

The race that would include the Post-Race Party is for participants in the half marathon distance during Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend. If you'd like to enjoy the Post-Race Party, you are welcome to purchase an additional ticket, but it is only included in registration for the half marathon runners. The thing I enjoy most about this race is the time of year where you'll get to enjoy slightly cooler temps in October/November and see both fall and Christmas decor, depending on the length of your stay!

If you and your family are Star Wars fans, it's a no-brainer to do the Star Wars Rival Run Weekend, which happens in April. While I'm not a huge fan of the saga myself, I still thoroughly enjoyed experiencing the fandom during my race.

On the flip side, for an all out girls weekend, Princess Half Marathon Weekend is the way to go. This race usually happens the last week in February and you'll see more glitter and tutus than you could imagine!

Last, but not least, is Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend. This one definitely draws the most runners and celebrates the Fab Five characters. For every other race weekend, the 10K will be on Saturday. For this event only, the 10K is a Friday race. This usually happens the first full weekend in January.

I'd recommend checking out this runDisney blog post about registration dates to help you decide! Please come back and visit us again soon.
