My family and I plan on visiting the parks in late July. I would love to stay at the Yacht and Beach Club. I saw the main pool is going to be closed through June. If the pool is a key factor, am I taking risk in going in July, might still be closed?

Ahoy Brian! Welcome to planDisney and thanks for bringing us your question about the Beach Club Resort.

With its proximity to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, I was just looking into this resort for my family's next stay. The pools and 230-foot water slide at Stormalong Bay are definitely a selling point, so l can understand why you’d want to make sure it’s open for your visit.

According to the Beach Club Resort website, the Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool refurbishment is scheduled to go from January to June 2025, and it describes the work as “routine maintenance.” I think that means you’ll be good to go for your late July vacation, but you may want to check back occasionally for updates. As all good sailors know, it never hurts to keep an eye on the horizon.

If your family is anything like mine and swimming is an essential vacation activity, I’d also recommend visiting the Walt Disney World water parks. They are currently open on a rotational basis, so I would expect Typhoon Lagoon to be open for your July visit. Polynesian Village Resort, BoardWalk Inn, and Caribbean Beach Resort also have great pools with waterslides if you want to be ready with a plan B.

Sail on back to planDisney if you have any other questions, Brian! We’re happy to help you chart a course towards a wonderful vacation!
