Hi Madisyn!
Welcome to planDisney! That sounds like SUCH a fun and festive day!
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is a separately ticketed event. So, if you plan to go to the Magic Kingdom during the day, you’ll need a
regular park ticket. And if you plan to stay for the party that night, you’ll need a separate party ticket.
The
Magic Kingdom will close to guests who only have regular park admission at 6 PM on party nights. So, if you have a party ticket in addition to regular park admission, make sure to check into the party with a Cast Member. You will not need to leave the park and re-enter, though! There will be stations set up around the park for you to check in.
If you only have a Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party ticket without regular park admission, you will be able to enter the park beginning at 4 PM. So if you decide you only want to go to the Magic Kingdom for the party, you’ll still get a little extra time in the park before the party starts.
My tip is to use that time before the party officially starts to grab some dinner. That way, you have all the time possible to enjoy the party offerings once it kicks off at 7 PM!
I hope you have the BEST time! If you have any other questions, let us know. We’re always happy to help!
