My family & I plan to be at Disney World for Christmas & I was wondering where would be a great place for my husband, me & our 3 boys to have Christmas dinner.

    Hi Jen,

I've been to WDW during three major holidays: Thanksgiving twice and Christmas once.

There is a school of thought that if you're spending a big holiday at WDW, you should dine somewhere totally unlike what you normally eat for that holiday. For example, if you usually have turkey for Thanksgiving (and who doesn't), then you should eat something like sushi or burritos for WDW Thanksgiving because the vacation food will never be exactly like what you're used to from home. There is some small bit of logic to this, but that's not the way I roll. I want to have holiday food on my holiday.

That being said, I think you should head on over to the menus section of allears.net. They post the usual menus for all WDW restaurants. There will be changes and supplements for holidays, but the regular menus will give you an overview of the type of food to expect.

I feel like a holiday is a time to splurge, so I've focused my holiday dining on Disney's signature restaurants. These are a bit more upscale than the usual dining experience. Our best holiday dinner was a Artist Point in the Wilderness Lodge. I find this place to be perfect blend of relaxed and elegant. Good wine, great food, excellent service, but no air of stuffiness. Children are welcome here. I've taken my three daughters there when there were as young as three years old. The kids were treated with the utmost respect while I got to have a fabulous meal.

If you want to take it up a notch more, you could try for dinner at the California Grill and time it with the Wishes fireworks display. Christmas dinner while watching the fireworks. What could be cooler than that?!

Good luck with your planning and enjoy your Walt Disney World vacation!
